Anzac Day Treks

No matter what trek you choose it will be a most memorable experience as we immerse ourselves in the history and culture of PNG. In Port Moresby you will stay at the best 5-Star hotel in PNG, the Hilton.

We visit all the major battlefields along the Kokoda Track including Isurava, Eora Creek & Brigade Hill. You will also visit Lake Myola and make side trips which many other treks miss out on.

Group 1, after we attend the official Dawn Service at the Bomana War Cemetery we will have lunch at the Royal Port Moresby Yacht Club. For Group 2, we will start our trek from Owers' Corner and attend the official Dawn Service at Isurava Battlefield.

It is one thing to simply tick the Kokoda Track off a bucket list, but it is quite another to undertake a pilgrimage that immerses you in our proud wartime history. The backdrop of the beautiful, rugged and sometimes harsh terrain of the PNG jungle, the very ground upon which the events of 1942 took place, sets the scene for our master story tellers to bring the voices of our ancestors to life.

Kokoda Historical will get you excited about Australian history! We aim to bring to life the many people that became extraordinary heroes of our proud nation. We are talking about the soldiers, civilians and Papuans that were embroiled in the Second World War in the jungles of the Owen Stanley Ranges. They are true Australian heroes that stood between tyranny and freedom, and we will remember them.

So, pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and immerse yourself in the past as you join us on our ANZAC Day 2025 pilgrimage over the Kokoda Track. We have over 18 years' experience trekking the battlefields of PNG and studying our proud history along with interviewing the veterans, serving in the Australian Defence Force and bringing the history to life through innovative methods.
