Last year Jarryd walked 96ks with The Lara RSL Sub Branch for the Kokoda Memorial walk. This year in October he is doing the real thing in PNG. Jarryd will be doing the track with Kokoda Historical and raising money.
Over 10 years ago Jarryd was in a really tough place mentally, it's something he struggles with to this day. Starting comedy was the greatest thing that happened in his my life. Jarryd says it saved him. Therefore, he will be raising money for Australian National Veterans Arts Museum.
Starting a sustainable artistic career is almost impossible, but Jarryod did it through a combination of delusion and being homeless. So on this trek, he will be raising money to give Veteran Artist a chance to make work and to fund them being in an exhibition. Jarryd hopes to raise enough money so they will then put it on the road and inspire other people that anything is possible. This exhibition will be called Courage of Kokoda. Jarryd will be taking a cameraman with him to document the process and release 11 days of videos in the lead up to Remembrance Day and a long form documentary.
It is his aim to raise $50,000. If he can do that, JArryd says he will do the Track in WW2 attire (Australian not Japanese... better foorwear). This content in short and long form will be viewed millions of times. So if any businesses would like a 100% tax deductible promo... I will call you out along the way and in the lead up. (hit Jarryd up) Also if anyone would like to join jarryd on this trek... the profits from anyone joining my trek will also go towards this project.
