Expert Historian and Trek Leader, Reg Yates, has kindly arranged for a special tour of the Museum of HMAS Cerberus for all interested parties on the 7th February 2015. The Museum of HMAS Cerberus is located in a heritage listed building (originally the Supply School built in 1922) within the HMAS Cerberus heritage precinct. The Museum exhibits some of the oldest and most significant artefacts held by the Naval Heritage Collection most of which relate to the Victorian Colonial Navy and the history of HMAS Cerberus.
One of the highlights in the Cerberus museum is the original German flag which was captured at Rabaul after the Battle of Bita Paka, Australia’s first land battle of World War I. This tour will be attended by some of the participants on our AN&MEF Tour which commemorated the Battle of Bita Paka.
This exciting event will be followed by a BBQ luncheon at a nearby location. RSVP is essential, for further details contact regyates@gmail.com or info@kokodahistorical.com or call David on 0405 007 700
