WWII battlefields in PNG - War relics at Eora Creek
Today the group have trekked to Eora Creek and climbed up to the Japanese position looking down over the mighty Eora Creek. In this region was the site of the largest battle on the Owen Stanley Ranges in the Australians advance to Kokoda.
In October 1942 near Eora Creek, two brothers of the Manusa family from NSW, Guy and Perry, who served in the 2/1st Battalion, were killed in action within days of each other. To read more about the Manusu Family please click here.
