New documentary film HOSTAGES TO FORTUNE is delving deep into the heart of an Australian war story which has lived in the shadows of public attention since the end of WWII.
Kokoda Historical are proud to support James on his upcoming production. James recently accompanied one of our treks following in the footsteps of the soldiers of Lark Force as they tried to desperately escape the invading Japanese.
James Nightingale is the writer/director/producer of Hostages To Fortune. After studying journalism at Macleay College in Sydney James honed his skills as a print and broadcast journalist in both Sydney and Brisbane. In 2014 James made a transition into film gaining invaluable production experience on a variety feature films and television series before going on to founding his own production company Nightingale Films in 2016.
James’ first film Breaking Ice is a short documentary penetrating the
implications of crystal meth on everyday Australians. It played at a number of festivals and received the Best Australian Short Documentary award at the 2017 Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.
