Day 5 Update from the DCP Group!

  • Tour Update

We have an update from the DCP Group who are currently trekking along the legendary Kokoda Track, immersing themselves in the rich history and paying tribute to the brave souls who fought here. Despite the rain, they're in high spirits and making remarkable progress.

After an arduous journey, the DCP Group reached Agulogo Campsite, nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Kokoda Track. The rain may have added a touch of adventure to their trek, but it certainly hasn't dampened their enthusiasm. They're pushing forward with determination and a deep sense of respect for the sacrifices made by the soldiers who walked these very paths.

Before reaching Agulogo, the group made a poignant stop at Brigade Hill to conduct a memorial service. Brigade Hill holds significant historical importance as it was the site of fierce battles during the Kokoda Campaign in World War II. Australian and Japanese forces clashed here, and the DCP Group took a moment to honour the fallen soldiers and reflect on the bravery and resilience they displayed amidst the challenging conditions.

Despite the rain showers that have accompanied their trek, the DCP Group is undeterred. They've embraced the challenging weather as part of the Kokoda experience, rallying together and supporting one another along the way. ️

In the above photo, captured by Ghetto Media, you can see the solemn plaque at Brigade Hill, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom. It serves as a powerful symbol of remembrance, inspiring the group to continue their journey with a profound sense of gratitude and reverence.

Stay tuned for more updates from the remarkable journey of the DCP Group as they press on, leaving footprints upon the hallowed grounds of the Kokoda Track. Let's send them our support and encouragement as they honour the legacy of those who fought valiantly for our freedom.
