Bone Man of Kokoda dies at age 95

Kokichi Nishimura otherwise known as the Bone Man of Kokoda, (144th Infantry Rgt. veteran) who fought in the Kokoda Track in 1942 has passed away at 13:33 Tokyo time on October 25th. He was 95 years old.

His farewell ceremony and the funnel will be carried out on October 28th and 29th in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture.

We all extend our sincere condolences to his daughter, Sachiko-san, on his father's death. Mr. Nishimura was a man of honor and a man of "promise" at the same time.

We all believe he has finally achieved reunion with all of his comrades who fought together in New Guinea and in Burma.
